Sales Manager
O*NET-SOC: 11-2022.00
Directs sales teams, sets sales goals and quotas, analyzes sales data, develops training programs, and establishes territories and pricing strategies to maximize revenue.
About this Role
Sales managers lead and develop a team of sales representatives, setting revenue targets and building the strategy to reach them. They spend much of their day reviewing pipeline data in a customer relationship management system, identifying which deals are progressing and which need intervention. They run daily team meetings, assign leads, and coach reps on how to handle objections, structure proposals, and close deals. When a high-value opportunity arises, they often join client calls directly to help negotiate terms or move a stalled conversation forward.
