Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Scrypath service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Important: Your continued use of Scrypath constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Description of Service
Scrypath is a career-fit assessment tool that helps users explore career paths through a research-backed adaptive quiz. The service collects your responses across six assessment categories (skills, personality, work values, education, work environment, and industry perception) and compares your profile against occupational data to generate career fit scores.
Results are informational only. They do not constitute professional career advice, counseling, job placement, or employment guidance. Career decisions should consider many factors beyond what any assessment tool can measure.
User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when registering
- One account per person
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- You may register via email/password or through third-party providers (Google, GitHub)
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools to access, scrape, or copy quiz content or scoring data
- Share account credentials with others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the scoring algorithms or question bank
- Interfere with the service or other users’ access
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
Warning: Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or termination.
Intellectual Property
- All content, scoring algorithms, question data, occupational profiles, and visual design are owned by Scrypath
- Your quiz answers and personal data belong to you
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Scrypath’s content without permission
Data & Privacy
What we collect
Email address, name, quiz answers, career fit results, account credentials (hashed)
How we use it
To provide the assessment service and generate career recommendations. We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third parties.
Third-party analytics
None for MVP
Data retention
Your data is stored as long as your account is active
Account deletion
Deleting your account permanently removes all your data including quiz answers and results (GDPR-compatible)
Cookies
We use essential session cookies for authentication. No tracking or advertising cookies.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
- The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
- We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of career fit scores
- Career recommendations are not professional advice — we are not career counselors, employment agencies, or educational institutions
- Scrypath shall not be liable for any decisions made based on quiz results
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (which is $0 for the free service)
Account Termination
By you
You may delete your account at any time through Account Settings. All data is permanently removed upon deletion.
By us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
Modifications to Terms
- We may update these terms from time to time
- Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Continued use of Scrypath after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms
- Material changes may be communicated via email or in-app notification
