Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign up via Google or GitHub, we receive your name and email from those providers.
Quiz responses
Your answers to quiz questions across five assessment categories: skills, personality, work values, education, and work environment.
Career results
The career fit scores and rankings generated from your quiz responses.
Technical data
Basic technical information required to operate the service: session tokens, browser type, and IP address (for security and rate limiting only).
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the career assessment service and generate your career fit scores
- To save your quiz progress so you can resume later
- To display your results and career match history
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session
- To protect against abuse and enforce our terms of service
We never sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
- No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers
- Your quiz responses and results are never used to train AI models
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog (posthog.com) to collect anonymised usage data such as page views, click events, browser type, and screen size. For logged-in users, your user ID is linked to analytics events so we can understand overall feature usage. PostHog uses memory-only persistence — no cross-session tracking occurs. Email delivery (Resend)
We use Resend (resend.com) to deliver transactional emails such as account verification and password reset. Resend processes your email address solely for delivery purposes.
Error monitoring (Sentry)
We use Sentry (sentry.io) to detect and diagnose application errors. Error reports may include your browser type and anonymised request data but never your quiz responses or personal results.
If we integrate additional third-party services, this policy will be updated before any new data sharing begins.
Data Retention & Deletion
While your account is active
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists, so you can access your results at any time.
Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your Account Settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible — all your personal data, quiz responses, and career results are permanently removed from our database.
Automatic cleanup
Incomplete quiz sessions that have been inactive for more than 90 days may be automatically removed.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — View all data we hold about you through your account dashboard
- Correction — Update your name and email through Account Settings
- Deletion — Permanently delete all your data by deleting your account
- Portability — Request a copy of your data (contact us via email)
- Objection — Contact us if you have concerns about how your data is processed

Children’s Privacy
Scrypath is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@scrypath.com and we will promptly delete that information.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this privacy policy from time to time
- Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
- Material changes may be communicated via email or in-app notification
- Continued use of Scrypath after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
